The psalms of Sacred Scripture reflect the whole range of yearnings of every Christian: prayers in times of need and distress, praise for the beauty of creation, repentance of those who know their own sinfulness, prayers in a variety of daily situations.

Fr Kevin Lyon, a priest of the Dublin Diocese and working in Blessington, Co. Wicklow, has composed his own reflections gleaned from the riches of the psalms and published them in:
Psalm-Prayers for every mood.
Here, we give you a taster of these prayers courtesy of the author and publishers Columba Press, 55a, Stillorgan Industrial Park, Blackrock, Co. Dublin, Ireland. 00353 1 2942556.

These selections are arranged roughly in the following four categories. Just click on the prayer title below, read the reflection slowly and in thanksgiving, end it with the traditional doxology:
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be world without end, Amen
