Blessington History Society

We hold our monthly Talks on the 3rd Thursday of March, April, May, October and November. Two of our members have now finished transcribing baptisms, marriages and deaths from the early register of St Mary’s Church of Ireland which is held in the Representative Church Body Library in Churchtown, Dublin. The AGM is held annually on the 3rd Thursday of February.

On the homepage of this website,  click on ‘history’ in the right bar to access written articles on Blessington history. Click on ‘Heritage Trail’ on the left bar to show the information on the heritage sites in Blessington. This is also available as a brochure from the tourist office. The information was compiled by Blessington History Society in 2006. The project was assisted by Wicklow Rural Partnership Ltd under the European Union LEADER + National Development Plan 2000-2006.

A 3 minute video of the heritage sites of Blessington may be viewed below. The script for this was written by members of Blessington History Society.

New Members always welcome.  Just come along to any of our Talks and meet us.
